Open House Results

It was a lot of work to prepare for the Open House and our investment paid off! Thank you so much to everyone who could make it and to those of you who wanted to, but had scheduling conflicts. We are now moving on to Next Steps, which involves meeting with the folks who indicated they wanted to be on a specific project team to move things forward. Centralized composting, an Expanded Apple Pressing Program, an expanded Equipment Library, Community Cold Storage (root cellar and freezer), Community Garden and Greenhouse, and Year Round Access to Local Food were all identified as urgent priorities. After the teams have met, we will work on a detailed project plan and securing needed resources.

The following link will give you access to a folder with Notes from the Open House, the slides from our presentation regarding survey results and project information as of November 1, the Survey Results poster developed by students at CMTN College in Smithers, and the Food and Agriculture System Planning toolkit. The Toolkit was developed as part of the 2018 Food Security Forum held in Smithers and contains the Prioritization Framework (p.15) highlighted at our Open House. Please let us know if you have problems accessing the folder and we will troubleshoot together.
