Woodchipping, Compost Sales and Wildfire Community Preparedness Day

Join us at the Old Chipper Yard/Composting Hub across the highway from the Hazeltons Visitor Info Centre from 12 noon for a BBQ lunch then stay for Educational Workshops. FireSmarting your Home at 1 pm, Bear Smart at 2 pm with Rob Matthews of the Gitxsan Lax Yip Management Office. We will also be running our WoodChipper so bring your yard trimmings and prunings for our chipping demo and learn more about our Mobile Woodchipping Services and rentals. This event is sponsored by FireSmart Canada.

In our equipment library we have a livestock trailer for emergency evacuations, wood chippers to reduce the fuel load on your property, and educational materials about landscaping choices and other checklists. Join us and let’s work towards getting official FireSmart recognition and all the benefits that come with it.

Due to other events in the region, our speaker Shane van de Water will be available on Sunday to provide information and answer questions about wildfire preparedness.
