With two full boxes now curing, it’s time to share the data we collected. Thanks to Belinda Li, our SFU Food Systems Lab partner for preparing these infographics. In our first box we have 1358kg of food scraps collected over 7.5 weeks. The second box has 1839kg of food scraps and was started August 1 and closed up Sept 18 (6.5 weeks). The first number is food scraps, the second is wood chips, and the third is water. It’s quite thrilling to report out that in total we have now composted 3,197 kg of food scraps – that’s 7,048 pounds or an average of 228 kg per week.
