It’s June 3 and we just received official authorization from the BC Ministry of Environment to proceed with our composting pilot project. Getting this approval was no small task as a composting facility is treated in much the same way as a landfill so leachate collection, odour management and vector control must all be carefully considered and written into our Operations Plan. Thanks to Jesse, our approving officer for making the process as painless as possible. We will be open Sunday, June 9 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm to receive materials for composting and show off our work. Hooray!
